There has been a revolution in how scientific discoveries are being reported, with more and more scientists and researchers uploading early drafts of their research papers to preprint servers. Alongside this change has come a revolution in peer review, with third-party peer review services emerging to work with preprint servers, evaluating and validating the scholarship and science reported in those preprints.
HighWire’s Best Practice webinar series will explore this new innovation in peer review, with presentations and discussion from the host of bioRxiv and medRxiv, who work with various peer review services, such as Review Commons and PCI, to facilitate preprint peer review. The panel will address the policies that have been developed, review the processes that have been put in place, and explore the technologies, such as DocMaps and MECA, that are being used.
