One of the world’s largest STM publishers with operations in 24 countries, sought to modernize its books production workflow. The goal was to create an end-to-end platform capable of handling large volumes of content, starting with 600,000 annual pages.

To address these challenges, HighWire implemented the following solutions:

Implementation of MPS Workflow Management System
  • MPS’ proprietary publishing workflow was deployed for tracking and project management, providing a robust framework for managing complex workflows.
Integration with DigiEdit Platform
  • The DigiEdit Platform was integrated with our workflow system to assist content handling for all stakeholders, including authors, editors, designers, copyeditors, proofreaders, indexers, and project managers.
Communication Module Development
  • A communication module was developed and integrated to eliminate email communication, enabling robust tracking and reducing manual errors.
Customizable Workflows
  • The system provided tailored workflows for different product types, enhancing flexibility and efficiency across various book formats.
Auto Schedule Creation
  • Automatic scheduling was implemented based on publication dates and workflow, with tracking of schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Extensive Reporting
  • Comprehensive reports were developed for all production and customer tracking needs, providing stakeholders with real-time insights into the production process.
Infrastructure Capacity
  • The infrastructure was designed to handle up to 1 million annual pages, ensuring scalability and future readiness.
