SSP 47th Annual Meeting

SSP 47th Annual Meeting

Venue: Baltimore, Maryland

We’re excited to be back at the 47th Annual SSP Meeting in 2025! SSP is always a great opportunity to reconnect with peers and dive into thought-provoking sessions and presentations on the future of scholarly publishing.

You’ll find the HighWire and MPS team at Booth 101—we’re looking forward to insightful conversations around content hosting, workflow solutions, publishing analytics, and the evolving landscape of research integrity.

Here’s what we’re bringing to SSP this year:

  • Education Session
Tony Alves, Senior Vice President of Product Management at HighWire Press, will moderate a thought-provoking session on “Diversification and Decentralization of Peer Review.” The session will feature insights from distinguished panelists: Emily Esten, Dr. Fiona Hutton, and Dr. John Inglis. This session will explore “community peer review” models – from preprins to post-publication, how innovations are amplifying diversity for peer review, and evolution of peer review from anonymous gatekeeping to transparent dialogue.
  • AI Roundtable Participation
Meet our product team at SSP’s first-ever AI Roundtable! Learn how MPSLabs, our R&D center, is automating workflows and improving efficiency through AI/ML. We’ll also demo Rubriq, our AI-based authoring tool that translates manuscripts into English with exceptional accuracy and seamless workflow integration.
  • Industry Breakout Session
Catch our session on the Research Integrity Check (RiC) platform—a new proof of concept developed by HighWire and MPSLabs. RiC consolidates multiple integrity tools into a unified dashboard, available both within the DigiCorePro submission system and as a standalone platform.

If you’re heading to Baltimore, stop by our booth—we’d love to talk publishing (or pets🐱).
