HighWire Press Enables Launch of AACC’s The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine
The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine, an online journal, is optimized for discoverability and mobile reading experience on the HighWire Open Platform
The American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC), a global scientific and medical professional organization dedicated to better health through laboratory medicine, launched its new, online journal, The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine (JALM), on the HighWire Press, Inc.’s Open Platform on July 31, 2016.
“AACC is very pleased to launch our new journal, The Journal of Applied Laboratory Medicine, An AACC Publication,” said Mac Fancher, AACC’s Publisher and Vice President of Publications. “This new journal will expand on the scope of the cutting-edge research featured in our journal, Clinical Chemistry, by focusing on translational or applied laboratory medicine studies.”
The HighWire Open Platform offers AACC several approaches to content and website management, all designed to boost discoverability and deliver a streamlined reader experience on any device with more opportunities for social sharing. The ‘ready-to-configure’ solutions enable publishers to easily control how content and images are featured. The new online JALM will have numerous reader engagement features such as JALM Talk – a series of downloadable podcasts.
“We’re pleased to help AACC achieve its strategic goal of launching JALM to expand its publishing program. JALM will also positively contribute to, and further the AACC membership,” said Dan Filby, HighWire Press CEO. “Our team collaborated to deliver a tailored, highly visual reader experience. The flexibility of the HighWire Open Platform and its support for rich media offer an engaging experience for AACC readers,” Filby added.
