As information about the COVID-19 virus continues to evolve, we felt it was important for you to know how HighWire is responding.

We understand and take very seriously the vital role HighWire plays in the active dissemination of information that can be directly impacted by a situation such as this. Your reliance on the readily available connection points to your customers that HighWire facilitates is critical as volume increases.

As a global provider of software solutions in the STM industry, we have been monitoring the information, progress and impact of COVID-19. HighWire has a long established business continuity plan that we update regularly and have revisited recently in the face of COVID-19.

We have always offered all of our global employees the ability to work from home and continue to provide that option to our staff. In addition, we are currently discouraging any non-essential business travel, however given our global footprint and already well established cross geographic work practices, we are confident in our team’s ability to continue to provide all services in line with our regularly tested business continuity plan without interruption.

Furthermore enabling enhanced business continuity and access for our clients is paramount to what we do. HighWire co-developed Campus Activated Subscriber Access (CASA) along with Google Scholar. CASA enables seamless off-campus and mobile access to subscribed scholarly content. With CASA and Universal CASA  off-campus and mobile users may access their library’s subscriptions just as easily as when they are on campus. HighWire’s CASA FAQ provides additional information.

HighWire continues to be the most reliable and stable platform in the industry. Given the important role our message delivery systems play in your connection to your customers, as always we are actively monitoring our capacity and making adjustments where necessary.

COVID-19 Information 

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the following:

  • Frequently clean hands with soap and water or a 60% (or greater) alcohol-based hand rub if soap and water is unavailable.
  • Cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue when coughing and sneezing.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever and cough.
  • If you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, seek medical care and share previous travel history with your healthcare provider.
